  • Perks of Pill Packs

Did you know that MacDonnell Pharmacy offers a convenient blister packaging service for your medications, both prescription and over-the-counter, without any additional charges? The blister packs are structured into 4 cards, each containing a week's worth of medication (one-month supply). These cards are distinctly labeled with the days of the week and the specific times of day for taking your medication doses. This organized system simplifies the process of tracking whether you have taken your medication at the right time, such as your Tuesday suppertime dose. Moreover, each pill pack card features a dosing grid that displays the medications, quantities, strengths, and other essential details. These grids provide a wealth of crucial information regarding the quantities, frequency, and potency of your medications, which can be conveniently accessed by carrying your pill pack to medical appointments or during emergency situations. Are you concerned about frequent medication changes or dose adjustments? No need to worry! MacDonnell Pharmacy can efficiently accommodate any necessary modifications for new medications or those that are being phased out. Simply bring in your pill packs along with the new prescription, and we will take care of the adjustments seamlessly. Our priority is to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for our customers. If you are interested in enrolling in our blister packaging service, all you need to do is set aside a week's supply of your medications to keep at home and bring the remaining medications to the pharmacy along with a list detailing your medications and their dosing schedule. Our team will then organize your medications into a pill pack and notify you promptly when they are ready for pickup. Once you're setup for pill packs we'll automatically fill your blister pack medications each month (as long as there are active refills on file) so they'll be ready by a couple days before you run out of your at home cards.

  • Patient Profile Updates

Ensuring that your pharmacy maintains up-to-date and precise information in your patient profile is crucial for providing you with the best possible care. By keeping records of essential details such as patient names, health card numbers, and birthdates, pharmacists can accurately verify that prescriptions are being linked to the correct patient files. However, beyond just administrative accuracy, having a comprehensive listing of your medical diagnosis and allergies serves as a critical safety measure. This information acts as a safeguard to prevent any potential drug interactions or allergic reactions that could arise from the medications you are prescribed. It allows pharmacists to conduct thorough checks and ensure that the medications you receive are safe and suitable for your specific health needs. Therefore, by maintaining an updated and detailed patient profile, your pharmacy can better support your well-being and provide you with personalized and effective pharmaceutical care.
